Summer Hair Care

Most of us probably don’t give much thought, but similar to skin, hair and scalp are also very sensitive to the sun. It can cause damage if precautions are not taken.
I’m sharing some simple tips which can help to protect hair against the sun’s harmful UV rays.

Cover Your Hair
Hats, caps and scarves are good for protection against direct sunlight. Remember that leaving your hair open will result in the most damage so just keep them covered with the latest trends that suit you.

Trim Your Hair
Start your summers with a hair trim. You'll get rid of split ends and refresh your style. Hair really does grow faster in the summer so you need not worry. Many women with perfect hair never have split ends because they make it a priority to get their hair trimmed, or trim it themselves, every 6-8 weeks.

Safeguard from Chlorine Water
Use a swim cap when cooling yourself at the beach or pool. The chemicals and salt water can damage your hair. Alternatively you can apply a little conditioner before getting in the water if you don’t choose to wear a swim cap.

Wash with Good Quality Shampoo / Conditioner
You may be washing your hair more frequently to deal with summer's sweat but you should wash hair sparingly with a good quality shampoo. Use a clarifying, or anti-residue, shampoo once a week to clear away product build up and chemicals. Just be sure to follow with a deep-conditioning treatment.

Don't brush your hair too muchBrushing your hair stimulates the follicles which promotes growth, but brushing too much too often will cause damage to your hair strands that results in frizz and split ends.

Let hair dry naturally
Avoid brushing hair while wet, as it makes the hair brittle and weak. Only use a wide tooth comb to brush out tangles while hair is wet and let them dry naturally instead of a blow dry.

Drink Water
Most importantly drink water often to keep yourself hydrated. When you drink enough water, your hair looks its best. So make sure you don’t let yourself feel thirsty.

Until next - Stay Blessed and Beautiful !
